Te mando este rojo cadmio… és un llibre de cartes entre dos amics, John Berger y John Christie. Aquesta correspondència es va iniciar el febrer de 1997, quan, responent a una pregunta genèrica de Christie: “Quin podria ser el nostre proper projecte?”, Berger va respondre: “Envia’m un color…”

I una taca de vermell cadmi va creuar el Canal.

A Berger, aquest primer color li va suggerir innocència. “… el vermell de la infantesa… el vermell de les parpelles joves tancades amb força…”. Més tard va parlar del seu vermell preferit, el vermell de Caravaggio: “El vermell pel qual es jura amor etern. El vermell que té com a pare el ganivet.”

T’envio aquest vermell cadmi és l’exposició de la correspondència original sobre el color entre John Berger i John Christie que va tenir lloc entre els anys 1997 i 2000. L’exposició inclou també una col·lecció de fotografies dels autors fetes pel fotògraf suïs Jean Mohr i el propi John Christie, així com el llibre del mateix títol que recull la totalitat de la correspondència.
